My Why

As a mother, I deeply understand the heartbreak of watching my three older sons struggle with acne. These challenging years taught me more than I ever imagined, and now I aim to share my knowledge to help others. The good news is, there is hope for you or your child!
Acne affects more than just the skin; it impacts self-esteem and social confidence. Teens with facial acne may avoid public events, while those with back acne might miss out on summer fun. As a parent, I want so much more for our children—to simply enjoy their youth.
With four boys, three now in their twenties, I was determined as an esthetician to prevent them from suffering the way many teens do, and to avoid harmful medications like Accutane. The good news was, despite our family’s history of acne, I learned that acne can be controlled with the right diet, lifestyle, and skincare routine.
My journey involved understanding different types of acne and how to treat them uniquely. For instance, my oldest son’s sensitive skin needed specific products, while my second son’s perioral dermatitis improved with tailored skincare and a toothpaste switch. By the time my third son faced acne, I was well-prepared, and now, my sons maintain clear skin with healthy habits and Face Five Skincare products.
From this experience, I developed the Acne Solution Program, offering in-office and virtual consultations. Our Face Five Skincare products cater to various skin types, emphasizing a holistic approach to clear skin. I am dedicated to partnering with you in this journey, helping you or your child achieve clear skin and newfound confidence.
I am at your service and am honored to partner with you in this worthwhile pursuit!
Yours Truly,
Yuki Stauffer
FAQs
How much does it cost to start your program?
Your first appointment will be our Acne Solution Program 101 (ASP101). An In-Clinic visit is $149 and a Virtual Appointment is $98. Your first round of products is typically $215–$275, lasting around 6-8 weeks.
What can I expect after my first appointment?
After your initial ASP 101 appointment, we will see you every two weeks for either a Full Face Treatment ($98) or an Express Face Treatment ($79). We also offer packages of 6 to get you through the initial three months of the program.
Express Face Package: $395 (Buy 5, Get 1 Free)
Full Face Package: $490 (Buy 5, Get 1 Free)
What kind of services do you offer?
We offer an Acne Solution Program, which is designed to treat and clear acne in about 90 days. We also offer Body Treatments, Microneeding Treatments, Anti-Aging Facials, Acne Facials, and Hydro-glow Treatments.
How long before I see results?
Acne can take up to 90 days to form, and most of our clients see clear skin in about 90 days. Please know that not every client is the same, and some might see results quicker or slower than others.
Do you offer gift cards?
What kind of chemical peels do you use?
Our Chemical Peels are a blend of Lactic Acid, Mandelic Acid, Kojic Acid, Azelaic Acid, and Trichloracetic Acid (TCA). The percentage of acids in these chemical peels is designed for gentle exfoliation.
Are there things I should avoid after the chemical peel treatment?
Please avoid getting your skin wet for 4-6 hours after the chemical peel. Avoid direct sun exposure, extreme heat, working out, and sweating for 24 hours post-treatment.
Why do I have to use Face Five Skincare products?
We cannot guarantee results if you use other products. Non-Comedogenic ingredients are not FDA-regulated, therefore, companies can claim that their products are acne-safe even if they include clogging ingredients. Other skincare lines might also use ingredients that can interfere with Face Five Skincare, causing skin irritation. This is not a concern with Face Five Skincare, as we have control over every ingredient in our products.
How do you handle different levels of acne?
We understand that not everyone’s skin has the same problems or will react the same way to products. During your first appointment, we will conduct a skin test to determine which strength of products your skin will tolerate. We will identify the specific type of acne you have, as well as any “acne impostors,” and make sure that we select the products with the ingredients that will be most beneficial to you.
Do you offer any services to reduce acne scarring?
Yes. Our Acne Solution Program addresses acne scar treatment from the beginning. Your homecare products and in-clinic treatments are designed to get your acne under control and get rid of acne scars quickly. We also offer Microneedling services for those who have severe acne scars requiring more attention.
What if I live out of town or can't make in-clinic appointments?
We offer Virtual Free Consultations, a Virtual Acne Solution Program, and we also offer Virtual Check-ins for established clients. You will still need to continue your home care regimen!
What happens once my acne is clear?
There is no permanent cure for acne. Once your skin is clear, you will still need to follow your home care routine to prevent future breakouts from forming. We also recommend coming in for treatments every 6-8 weeks to maintain the best skin possible.
What is the difference between chemical and mineral sunscreen?
Chemical sunscreen absorbs into the skin and reacts with the UV rays; this can cause toxins to dump into your bloodstream, creating hormone disruptors. We do not recommend it for clients who are pregnant or nursing.
Mineral sunscreen forms a barrier on the surface of your skin, which helps reflect UV rays without penetrating your skin. We prefer using Mineral Sunscreen for acne-prone skin due to its gentleness, effectiveness, and calming abilities.
Do you accept health insurance?
No, we do not work with health insurance companies. FSA/HSA is accepted. Please check with your company before scheduling an appointment.
Do you offer acne-safe makeup?
We do not carry makeup products. We do have a list of acne-safe cosmetics available on our Pinterest page.
What if I cannot come in for an appointment every two weeks?
We do recommend coming in for a treatment every two weeks to see the fastest results, however, we understand that is not always an option. If you cannot come in for an appointment every two weeks, you may schedule a virtual appointment so that we can make the necessary adjustments to your home care routine.
Will I need to buy different products every two weeks?
No. For the best results, we will need to slightly adjust how you use the products already purchased in your home care routine every two weeks, however for the most part, the products will not change until you run out.
Are there any acne safe shampoos and conditioners?
Yes! We have some available in our Store, but we also have a list of acne-safe hair products on our Pinterest page.
Will my skin get worse before it gets better?
It is not uncommon to see some “purging” in your skin. “Skin purging” is when the acne breakouts that were under the skin come to the surface. This usually happens between weeks 1 and 4 of you starting the program and using the products. It is important to know that this is not necessarily a bad thing.
Do I have to switch all my non-acne safe products? (Detergent, make-up, toothpaste, etc)
We highly recommend that you switch to all acne-safe products. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee the results that you are looking for. This is due to people unknowingly putting pore-clogging ingredients on their skin that will cause acne to form. Unfortunately, many “acne-safe” products still include pore-clogging ingredients. We have a list of acne-safe products on our Pinterest page!
Wouldn’t it just be easier for me to get on Accutane?
Accutane can cause many harsh side effects to the body, including extreme skin sensitivity, muscle and joint pain, and organ damage. Our Acne Solution Program offers a safe alternative to clearing acne. We hope you give this a try before you choose Accutane.
